I don't know why one reviewer was so disappointed. Try buying the sandals in LEATHER or SUEDE. I've been wearing Birk Medina and Ramses (very similar) nearly every day of my life for more than twenty years (if it's raining, I wear synthetic flip-flops), and I'm in my sixties! They look sharp and they're FABULOUSLY COMFORTABLE.
